Work Examples
A mix of code samples and large projects I played a major role in.

This site!
Had a lot of fun building it, it was mostly designed in-browser to show off techniques that I enjoy.
All of the art, graphics, design, code, and vibes are 100% me, no AI necessary. If you peek under the hood, you’ll find plenty of CSS chicanery, accessible HTML, and other nerdery.

Red Hat Documentation
-While at Red Hat I worked on their software documentation web site and publishing. It hadn't seen significant updates in many years when I arrived, and the customer relationship and code situation where in a poor state.
Within a year I moved front-end SME to a technical lead, when I left the project a few years later we got a 32 point increase in the NPS score (-17.5 to 14.6).
- Recognized as one of Red Hat's top 150 premier technical contributors in 2023
- Discovery, System Architecture, & Project Planning - I interviewed documentation authors, gathered customer feedback, and created analytics reports to understand the current state and set a baseline for improvement. I was able to get project plan and system architecture approved for a new CMS to support their 200+ authors, and all legacy and future content.
- Technical Leadership - I pitched and led a project rebuild the old docs CMS's front-end, which directly led to a massive increase in the NPS score for their documentation.
- UX Leadership - I partnered with our design team to help solve the user interface, user experience, and technical challenges that sprung out of our documentation system, editorial process, and our author and end user needs.

HTML & CSS Venn diagram
A client needed a visualization showing different ways to contribute to their school. Because the content was important for SEO and accessibility, I built it as well structured HTML.
The content is only in the markup once, but shows up as three circle Venn diagram at the "desktop" breakpoint, the for smaller screens appears as headings that give the same information in a simpler presentation.

Scaleable pixel perfect graphic made of HTML/CSS
No image or SVG required, a nerdy flex and an example I made for the article "Scaling CSS Components with BEM, REMs, & EMs, it's the Lullabot logo at the time. It's pixel perfect thanks to an equation I wrote to help me get the correct measurements, from an image of the logo to

Simple collapsible container
This is small pragmatic Javascript Class I wrote, it nails the aria and accessibility toggle that can expand/collapsable a container; just add CSS. Check out the doc block in JS, it can be dropped in and used out of the box, or practically anything can be tweaked for a few different use cases.
At time of writing it's used on the main menu dropdowns on Usenix's website.

Technical and Project Lead for Replatform and Redesign of Highlights.com
-This is an oldie, but a goodie. High points are:
- We replatformed and redesigned 3 Highlights web sites into one large site.
- I got the chance to work with the user experience firm Lextant, we did a lot of user research, wireframe, navigation, and design testing.
- I started as a design and development lead, and took over the entire project before development started, including project & people management.

Extra Credit: 20,000 Leaks Under the Sea
72 hour game jam with a few coworkers from Lullabot, Marissa Epstein and I collaborated on the art & style.
Our head cannon is this is Steve Zissou (Life Aquatic) in a crappy old submarine, it starts falling apart and he needs to get to the surface before it sinks!
